Process Chains
- Clarification of the specific material and application requirements with the customer
- Procurement of raw materials (e.g. 6-sided machined steel blocks, welding material(s))
- Mechanical pre-machining with our own equipment portfolio (e.g. 5-axis milling, drilling, etc.)
- Depending on the base material: heat treatment (usually stress relief annealing)
- Offline path planning for the laser DED process
- Laser DED process application with online control and recording/documentation of important quality-influencing process variables (e.g. feed rate stability, working distance, temperature information)
- Optional steps in the same clamping:
- Test/rough milling of critical points to verify the required build-up heights, quality and, if necessary, specific properties, e.g. hardness, freedom from cracks
- Rough milling of the produced or coated component
- Finishing to the final dimension
- Finishing and final processing with our other mechanical processing equipment (e.g. various multi-axis machining centers, up to 5 axes, blasting, vibratory grinding, etc.)
- Optional further processing steps with external partners, e.g. heat treatment, eroding, electropolishing, etc.
- Application of our comprehensive quality assurance options according to customer/application requirements
- Delivery of the turnkey product to the customer
